The Start: Happy Birthday

Hello Reader,

I am Abdulmajid Alnouri a student at Neumont University studying Computer Science; however, my passions extend into physics, psychology, and the world of academia. I am far too curious to be content studying in just one field, but I love computer science as it allows me to create my own tools to use (but that is just one of many reasons).

Why Create a Blog?

I have created this blog to serve as a creative outlet for me to write down everything that is on my mind just like a personal journal. Only this journal is publicly available for anyone to peruse and comment on. I hope to write some papers that I will release here and hopefully I can get a nice discussion base going and we can discuss the nature or consequences of some nice topics. The subject range of my papers will seem random and unrelated, but ultimately all the fields are connected and so I hope that my posts will not seem so random. This blog will also be a place where I post progress reports on my projects, problems encountered, and other details. I would like to think my suffering will at least be able to help others. With this in mind I would hope to start daily blogs and so this is technically my blog's birthday!
Happy Birthday alpha Blog!
Readers will notice a huge amount of future blog posts promised, and I hope that by writing them down I become truly committed.
*I will cover the names of my teachers for their own protection, but code names will correspond to actual unique teachers. So Prof. Alpha is an actual teacher in the real world, and he (a small hint) will constantly be known as Prof. Alpha

Today

Today was an amazing day. I got a chance to speak more to a teacher I greatly admire -Prof. Alpha. We spoke more about a project that he had conceived of, which I will one day post here, and during our conversation he gave me some of his own personal books to study and read, so I may be better equipped to understand his work.
WOW. Simply WOW. To think a teacher would lend me his own personal books that had inspired and helped shaped him is truly amazing and I am so grateful for the opportunity and trust that has been bestowed on my. In the future I will have a discussion on the work I am doing and the books I was given but for now I just want to get this sense of excitement out! I hope that this is not mistaken for false superiority or that I think in some way I am better than my fellow students. No. I am just happy that a teacher has taken an interest in me. There are only a few things worse than going to school and being a number.

Random Tangent Aside:

We should get one thing out of the way. Some would consider me a teacher's pet. I can often be found near a teacher’s side talking to them. I would like to encourage all students to spend more time with their teachers. They are more than just instructors! They are humans who have lived lives just like us, and they have experience that they might be willing to share. A project I am currently working on was purely inspired with a conversation I had with Prof. Alpha that lasted for an hour and half! Please use your resources. Teachers are so vital to our growth as students that it would be a shame to just go on thought school without some level of teacher-student interaction. If you haven’t’ talked to your teacher I ask that you do! Consider this a homework assignment! Go and ask your teacher what they used to do or what they worked on. You might learn something or become inspired either way. Furthermore it doesn’t matter what field, but I would recommend asking a teacher outside your field of study as this will broaden your horizon.

Fin

I want to end every blog post with something deep to for the reader to self-reflect on. I think every day we should just a moment to self-reflect on who we are and what we want to be. I think we don’t dream enough and so take this time to fantastic what you want to be. With that I will leave you with a comic that should hopefully wake some people up. (In a later post I will discuss the human tendency to be satisfied with nearly any given situation and how humans will lose motivation to advance their state of being).
Please check out some of the other work of Gavin Aung Than. His work is amazing and often times I will simply end with one of his works. So please self-reflect on this piece of art (But hey! I already did some self-relfection above! What is this? Too much thinking!) *this aside in italics represents a thought the reader mighty jokingly have.

Final note I swear!

If you have any suggestions on how to improve my writing or any mistakes you have seen feel free to tell me below and I will work to fix it. Or how about something you would like to see! I am glad we have finally taken the first step in this life long journey.
